What It Is
An enhanced milk thistle supplement formulated for liver support.
Contains silymarin (a group of flavonolignans from Silybum marianum) plus silybin (silybins A & B) and isosilybins A & B.
Uses a phytosome / phospholipid delivery system (e.g. phosphatidylcholine and other phospholipids) to improve absorption of milk thistle’s active compounds.
Comes in softgels; non‑GMO, gluten‑free.
Key Features & Dosage
The standard serving is 2 softgels daily, taken with or without food.
At that dose, it delivers a blend of milk thistle extract + phospholipids. The total blend is around 760 mg in the main proprietary blend, plus an additional phytosome milk thistle extract (providing more silybin).
Ingredients also include sunflower oil, gelatin, glycerin, purified water, etc.
Benefits / What It’s Intended For
Liver health support: Helps protect the liver from oxidative stress, supports normal liver function, and aids in natural detoxification.
Better absorption: The phospholipid (phytosome) system allows more of the active components (especially silybin) to be absorbed and used by the body, versus standard milk thistle extracts.
Support for cell repair: May help with healthy cell regeneration in the liver.
Antioxidant effects: Helps neutralize damaging free radicals that might otherwise harm liver cells.
Pros
Improved bioavailability: Delivery system likely enhances how much of the active compounds your body can use.
Broad-spectrum of milk thistle compounds (not just silymarin, but also silybin, isosilybins).
Good formulation in terms of purity (non‑GMO, gluten‑free) and inclusion of phospholipids and phytosome technology.
Considerations / Potential Downsides
Because of the enhanced absorption, effects may be stronger (or interactions more likely) compared to simpler milk thistle supplements. So it’s more important to monitor effects, especially if also taking other herbal or liver‑acting products.
If you have any liver disease, are on medication (especially those metabolized by the liver), pregnant, or nursing, check with a healthcare provider before using.
Herbal supplements are supportive; they do not replace medical treatments when there is serious liver disease.
As always, consistency matters; benefits are less likely to be dramatic overnight.
